I have also had the phone for a while (6months) and no problems, but i must say that i downloaded from this blog site (garmin upgrade) and ever since then by battery lasts about 16 to 20 hours. Some people have said that i should not charge my phone every night, but i have always done it from the samsung to the nokia and back to the samsung, and it has never been a problem so why now. I think that maybe it took a pounding while downloading info from the site or something. Taking it in does not solve the problem as previous person stated all that happens is frustration and you get told, nothing is wrong with the phone and you sit with it. I will also go back to Nokia, i just thought samsung had improved, how wrong was i.

I installed the update 5 days ago and since then I've had to charge my phone everyday.

It had been endlessly in and out to Samsung, for months and eventually their expert advice was we tested everything and can't find anything. I too did the Garmin upgrade and as soon as I uninstalled it my battery life went back to normal. I think the Garmin upgrade was only for Eskom's benefit, as it sucked the life out of the battery for no reason.

I've had my phone since October 2008 and it has worked really well up until about a week ago when the battery life SUDDENLY dropped from 2/4 days to less than 24 hours? I have checked that the bluetooth and GPS facilities are off. Please advise as I'm trying to avoid using the MTN Service centres due to long delays in getting the handset back (been there, done that, got frustrated!)
