Hiya,
Please try the update today. It should be available :)
When I tried to update mine a little earlier on Win 7 its says my phone is not connected. So I loaded up my Windows XP Mode machine and tried again. This time I get the same message as you. " Your phone software is completely up to date". At least it's something different. Looking forward to the update!!
When I tried to update my phone on Monday using Samsung PC Studio 7 the following message came up “your device is not supported by the software". I tried again today and now I get a message saying “No update required” the phone software is up to date. I think this means that the update will be available soon, will wait and see.
Tonace can you try to update your software again and see if you get the same message?
have same problem. out of frustration and by chance loaded mxit 5.9 lite for nokia 2760. voila file access. sends and receives images now. still no avatar though. if u have found better alternative please let me know. rgds
There is no current upgrade path from the service providers which normally supply it to the public via this blog or on some web space for free and by your own/self installation.
But if you call Samsung in South Africa and go through to the Mobile department they can direct you where to get a WM6.5 upgrade. This will unfortunately cost time and material from the Samsung service centre.
Nice thing about the Service centre upgrade is that it does not have the damn SP crap on it.
Later dudes.
Be interested to know if Samsung developed these displays? Pretty sure all mobile phones will be using them very soon.
I recently purchased a samsung B2100 as I am a keen MTB rider and needed a strong robust phone. The problem I have is that when receiving name cards or business cards I cannot view any of the info. Please help.
Im having the same problem as well.
Does anybody know what are the correct USB drivers to use here and also whether to use PC Studio 3 or 7 for the i 560? (whatever happened to 4-6)

Hey Andre,
The Samsung Team has confirmed that the phone is available on Autopage.
Hi Slash69,
The Samsung Team has confirmed that the I8000 is available in SA and currently through Autopage. Apologies for not providing information sooner.
The Samsung I8000 is currently available via Autopage.
Thanks for getting back to me. Seems we're in the same boat so looking forward to the update. Just FYI I have Win 7 and have Windows XP mode loaded so can try update using XP if Win 7 doesn't work.
Cheers
but i have a problem...there is know way i can get my mxit simcard back...so what must i do?
i have erroneously deleted my storage card after a hard reset on my omnia i900, and my navigation application has been removed from my storage card . How can I reload/download the software application to my storage card , as my phone has come preloaded with the software and i have the gps software disk for southern africa with the licence verification coupon . PLEASE HELP
I don't yet have information on which Win version will be supported but will be sure to find out. The update should work via Samsung PC Studio. Should you experience any difficulties with the update once it's available, the Samsung Support team will be happy to help you out. The latest version of PC Studio (03 Feb 2010) can be found here.
I'll also be applying the update on my own phone and am looking forward to the new features!
Thanks for the update! Can't wait to install it. Please just let me know if the Samsung PC suite will be able to update the phone as the message comes up as "your device is not supported by the software" or something to that affect?
Also will the Samsung update software work on Windows 7 or only on XP as I have seen many users having problems with the update procedure?
Thanks
I have two samsung phones and one is an omnia and the other one is a F480.I can use my Jabra bluetooth headset without any problems on my F480,but for Omnia it doesnt even detect the device! Please tell me what 's wrong with it.
Hi Tonace,
There was a slight delay during testing but it seems that the team may have the update ready quite soon. Keep an eye on the Blog next week for news on this topic. Sorry for the delay.
Tried the facebook link and that worked, have just entered...now fingers crossed.
I just want an update on the i8910 firmware relase date. Its not too much to ask is it?
Sorry palesa, still not working for me. It freezes on a black screen.
My omnia isn't letting me delete certain messages, it gives me the option for delete and just returns to the message and remains in my inbox. It's also telling me that I have an ever expanding amount of new messages when I don't, I've looked everywhere in my messages and no new messages. it's really annoying because it's as if I haven't received messages properly for me to view. How do I sort this?
That's odd. I've just tried it now and it seems fine. Please give it another go.
It is absurd that the expensive Omnia that I bought can't be upgraded from Windows mobile 6.1. I would not have bought this phone if it couldn't/wouldn't be upgraded. It's way too expensive a phone and Winmo 6.1 is pretty horrible for a variety of reasons. Samsung AND Microsoft won't get my business in the future, but will get lots of negative comments to counter their marketing in the future. And Verizon isn't any better - they pass me off to anyone but themselves to try and handle this. It's insulting!
Wonder how accurate those readings are, and even if they are it seems the jury is still out on whether we have anything to worry about. Must say my Omnia didn't fair very well in the ratings, fortunately my brain is probably so ossified it won't make a lot of difference.
What's up with that link, didn't work for me?
I hope you've entered the competition at www.samsungchelsea.co.za so you can see the game live!
