Review: Susann looks at the Samsung E250

I recently received a Samsung E250 on a contract upgrade and after 2 weeks of using it - I'm not too fond of it.

E250 Design

The Samsung E250 is a lightweight sliding phone that fits into the palm of your hand quite easily. The phone feels and looks a bit plastic in silver.

E250 Features

The E250 comes with a VGA camera with digital zoom, FM radio, mobile tracker and MP3 player.
The radio has come in handy, with the included earphones, at the office. The sound quality is not too bad for a cellphone.
The VGA camera takes decent pictures. The front camera button makes this a easy to use functionality.
I received an Oakley Razrwire with my upgrade and the Samsung E250 works perfectly with this.

E250 Usability

Unfortunately I have to admit that the user interface is not what I expected. The biggest drawback of the phone is the amount of times you have to select options to do simple functions.
Examples:
After typing your sms I have to select 6 times to insert a contact and send.
After dialing a contact I don't see an option to use a speaker phone. I'm not sure how to get to this option.
The buttons on the front does make it faster to use the main functions like, call the last number, answer, read sms etc.

De E250

Just because the E250 is regarded as an entry level Samsung mobile phone, there are many trade offs that Samsung made. The silver E250 model looks like a beauty but the silver coating is terrible. It peels off like cheap paint.

U only live once.

Lol

You can always get a new coating. I used this phone for about a year and it never peeled.

E250 stinks

This phone stinks!!! My bug list so far:
1. The SD card needs to be popped out and reinserted often. The icon on the screen shows that it is present, but the phone can't access it until you reinsert it.
2. The phone keeps reverting from "Mass storage" to "Modem" on the USB settings
3. You can't use the phone while charging the phone from the USB
4. HERE'S A BIGGIE:
Suppose that you receive an SMS from someone in your phone book (let's say your dad). You start to reply to it. While doing this, someone else (let's say your girlfriend) SMS's you. You finish sending the SMS to your dad. It takes you back to the inbox...except that it shows the new sms (from your gf) as coming from your dad!!! heart attack material!!!

Don't touch it is my advice

Oh

Thats awful. I had the same story too were don't know what happened, i accidentally sent a wrong mms to a wrong person. To be honest i don't know what happened. Beside that i never had any problem with it.

No sale here

I don't think this was a very good product by Samsung, and I love their innovation but sometimes they lack in tech and specs and go overboard on trends.

Re

E250 hold on i don't buy your story. I used e250 for so long and it was fine. It doesn't freeze nor turn itself on and off. It captures better images although its a VGA camera. The sound is loud and clear, what more could i want for a lower price?

This phone is not that bad.

If you want to experience better image quality change your camera resolution to 620*480
