After having my I560 for about 8 months i find it to be user friendly but lacks a debugged firmware and software update as there seem to be a few glitches with the OS...

I like the overall design except for the screen which has a bad glare on it if in the sun or even a bright surrounding and you can barely see anything on the screen

Battery life i560
Submitted by anonymous (not verified) on Fri, 2009-05-15 08:44.Hi, my new i560 has a seriously short standby life. I took it to the local Samsung service centre on 3 occasions. Eventually I had a new mainboard, new battery and software upgrade installed. Still lasts only 12 hours on standby before I have to recharge.(several specs on websites say standby should be between 260 - 350 hours).
NOTE: this is WITHOUT Bluetooth switched on, without using Garmin and with Packet Data Comms set to "when needed". No fancy music, ringtones, graphics etc - just plain vanilla settings.
I was told by the service centre that the standby specs were "based on European data" and aren't relevant. (yes, he really said that). Then he said I should try changing my SIM card but couldn't say why. Then he said it could be shortage of memory (?). I have 660MB free.
Please, can anyone tell me what I'm missing here?
Thanks.
Battery life i560
Submitted by stvadams4 on Wed, 2009-05-27 19:43.Hi
I am having the same problem with my i560. I get about 6 hours standby. Phone is only 5 months old. I am considering using it as a Garmin only with no Sim Card and only using it in the car with the car charger attached.
By the way, I happen to have replaced my two piece sim card for a new 3G sim, and it makes no difference.
I also have the exact same
Submitted by Jonti (not verified) on Tue, 2009-06-02 22:02.I also have the exact same issue with my battery life. Sent it to my service provider, they took it for a month and nothing changed. Let me know if you find a solution cause it is a massive inconvenience charging my battery every night.

I have discovered after 2 months of fighting with my battery that gamin 5.00.20 has a flaw and will suck your battery in a few hours. I unistalled and went back to 5.00.00 and my battery is humming along.

I was going to take it in but it looks like I could be wasting my time.To use it just for Garmin plugged into a charger seems a good idea as I have both a spare NOKIA & MOTOROLA
HSDPA Modem with Cable on PC
Submitted by Vlakkie1 (not verified) on Mon, 2009-09-21 14:14.Has anyone tried to use the i560 with a USB cable on their PC ? I am unable to use the HSDPA modem at its rated 3.6 MB/s due to problems with the USB driver that has never worked. It runs fine with the bluetooth , but only at 936 ( something) kb/s. The USB connects and runs features in PC Studio , but it will not run as a HSDPA modem to go on the internet
