I am finding my new Samsung B2100 not very user friendly.
Does anyone have advice on the following:
* When creating an sms message I can't seem to be able to generate a list of my contacts alphabetically by simply inserting a letter i.e. B. Similar to my old Nokia phone. (I have to go to the phonebook and then manually add someone)? Any advice? Short cuts.
* I've managed to create a group to sms to. But I can't add a contact to the group list...keeps giving me an error message that its empty (after I've typed in the contacts name)
* When receiving an sms why does the phone not automatically unlock the screen so that I can view the sms. I first have to unlock the screen and then access the message.
* I've also tried sending a namecard (business card) as an attachment to my own number. I receive the sms but I can't view the attachment?
If someone can answer these questions or send me a link on how to operate your B2100 in a user friendly manner that will be a great help. I did read the manual but some of the finer details are not covered.

B2100 issues
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Wed, 2009-09-16 10:19.I recently also got a b2100 , as i do like going on quad adventures etc and it is most useful for that besides the issues described here http://www.samsungblog.co.za/blog/global/2009/08/b2100-not-user-friendly , i also have 4 issues:
1.Keylock is annoying - you cannot set the timeout
2.Calander display on homescreen showing appointments for the day is not there
3.I have a Clarion CX609 radio that has bluetooth , often when i make a call while using the radio the phone restarts -most annoying.
4.The centre button that is assigned to open a web browser , how daft is that as you cant reassign it , if i wanted a web phone i would have gotten an Omnia/i560 (a 3g phone)
The batterylife is best i have ever seen , battery lastes 2 weeks (no bluetooth) & 1 week with bluetooth & i never switch my phone off.
The torch function is a fantastic feature

Hope this helps
Submitted by L T (not verified) on Fri, 2009-10-30 18:05.I had my b2100 re-programmed by samsung agents and that sorted out the problem of the phone restarting every time I phoned off my garmin bluetooth. I actually think the cause of this was a virus off the net cause the agents said a virus can cause damage to your software, and since the reprogramming I haven't had a problem. Also you can set the time out on your keypad lock by going to settings/displayandlight/ backlight time and then set dim. Hope this helps
