Has anyone experience problems to pair a Samsung Omnia with a Supertooth Light Blue Tooth car hands free system?
I do see the device and Omnia does pair with it successfully but no interaction and no sound. (Eg. cannot receive calls on the BT device)
Please help.

I have a few questions on the I900 Omnia
Submitted by ANDRE VAN WYK (not verified) on Wed, 2008-10-29 12:01.I have a few questions on the I900 Omnia
First of all your frequently questions asked form on you web site do not work correctly, hence I use this method to communicate and get information through.
Details: on The Samsung i900 Omnia phone:
1) The user manual is of a quick reference type and do not show and or cover all aspects of the phone. I need to obtain a full user manual?
2) How do I back-up my phone back?
You have a program which is called “MITs Wizard 3.0” this is nice however this program do not cover all aspects of the phone or even back-up the whole phone, why is there not such a feature?.
3) I have downloaded themes from the web site by Microsoft how do I get this into the correct place so I may use what I have download via Micro Soft’s web site?
4) How do I get to use my Wi-Fi on the phone to use IE browser on this phone to use the Wi-Fi on the phone as well. There are many aspects the small user manual does not cover.
5) In Outlook on my PC I have many e-mail folders, I do not want this whole list to go on my phone so with the Sync I have taken this off from the list, however before I initially stop this Sync it has created these folders on my phone. I do not find any method to delete this off my phone via the phone itself or via the PC. How would I get rid of these folders?
I Have been a Motorola fan for about 18 years only being using Motorola mobiles as well as my family, however due to the Global this with Motorola, Vodacom did not bring in the latest handsets, because of this I had to look at various brands with technologies I wanted and more, Because of the i900 Omnia this has brought me to the band Sumsung, Brilliant piece of technology better then HTC or even the Apple I phone 3G.

Here are the replies, by the Samsung Product department, to your various questions:

Blue Tooth hands-free ear piece With the i900 Omnia
Submitted by ANDRE VAN WYK (not verified) on Wed, 2008-10-29 12:15.I have always been a Motorola hand set user for many years, With my i900 Omnia my query is with the Blue Tooth, I use the Motorola H3 hands-free ear piece which I still have from my old Motorola phone and it work fine, however I had a feature on my Motorola phone that one could set up various custom setting regarding the hands free head-set on the phone. The feature is an auto answers after a certain amount of rings. Now I have to press the button with the i900 Omnia. Not a big deal just an annoyance.
Does the i900 Omnia have this feature or is it hidden away?
Pairing problems and NO VOICE DIALING FACILITIES
Submitted by cassie8 on Wed, 2008-10-29 17:33.I'm also shocked by the fact that the Omnia doesn't have a "Voice dialing" facility. I discovered that Supertooth Vioce Handsfree BT car system (I think it is the Supertooth 3 thats available in USA) works perfectly with the Omnia ACCEPTS FOR VOICE DIALING. I can receive calls via the Supertooth Voice. Also Vito Voice2Go works as a 3rd party voice dialer, using the main menu as hot button BUT the hot button doesn't transfer to the BT device - in other words can't make a voice activated phone call from the Supertooth via the 3rd party software.
Only the real built in voice dialing (not 3rd party software - like MSVC, Cyberon or the Vito voice2go which I used) will allow you to do voice dialing from your blue tooth device - SO SAMSUNG PLEASE WAKE UP - ALL NEW WMO PHONES DO HAVE VOICE DIALING, SAMSUNG ! (BUT do they ever read/react to these forums? OR SHOULD I RATHER ASKED, DO THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS?) My cell no is 082882**** if Samsung does want to phone to enquire why I'm upset - also about their customer care/helpdesk
No voice dialing facility
Submitted by cassie8 on Thu, 2008-10-30 19:14.See what I found at: http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=9954&st=0&gopid=68222&#e...
"I have a question for Vodafone that is particularly relevant for me as an Omnia owner, but also for other phone users:
Why did Vodafone develop their own version of the firmware for the Omnia - why not just leave it as it is?
The issues reported by Omnia users all seem to stem from this Vodafone firmware version and I'm confused as to why Vodafone feel it's necessary to mess with the firmware that Samsung have probably spent hundreds of thousands/millions of pounds developing and testing in the first place.
The fact that functionality is removed as part of this process is an additional absurdity.
Surely this is pointless re-invention of the wheel, just for the sake of a bit of branding?
I would welcome your thoughts, please Vodafone."
IS THE ABSENCE OF THE VOICE DIALING FACILITY CAUSED BY VODAFONE/VODACOM OR SAMSUNG ? Who can give us the answer ???? Will Samsung break the silence?

Go to settings > connections
Submitted by nadir on Thu, 2008-11-27 13:21.Go to settings > connections >
Open usb connection mode and make sure that Active sync is selected.
then go to "USB to PC", and UNTICK "Enable Advanced Network Functionality".
Now reconnect your USB cable and try to sync.
Please also ensure that on Activsync under File > Connection Setings, and ensure that "allow USB connections" is TICKED.
That should get you sorted out.

Problems pairing my Omnia on most devices
Submitted by Mzukulu (not verified) on Tue, 2008-12-02 20:23.Hi Guys,
I have problems pairing most devices with my Omnia, when i go onto devices, search for the device, and get the part of entering the code, enter the code, just below, it says, press next if no code is required, but a passcode is required, and there is no other option but to press next, so, i enter the code, then press next, but it keep saying... the connection cannot be established or the code is incorrect.
the device that i need to connect has a passcode of 1234, smart pairing would be nice, as i can pre-enter the passcode, but how exactly do i use smart pairing? when i select the parrot car kit, from the list of devices and click on next, it takes me through the normal pairing which is problematic, i thought there would be a smart pairing button somewhere.
and i read the post above, something about entering the passcode and pressing 'done'. there is no 'done' option when i pair a device.
other than the bluetooth issue, lovely phone, if i can get the internet sharing connection to last 5 minutes, it keeps dropping!
Problem with Bluetooth

has anyone found a solution?
Problem with Bluetooth submitted by Stephen Williams
Submitted by cassie8 on Mon, 2008-12-22 23:10.Hi Stephen,
Yes this is a problem we all experienced with the Omnia. However you have to check if your handsfree BT device is compatible with the Omnia. Just to give you an example; my Supertooth Light Handsfree BT was pairing successfully but no sound as you explained (that is not caussed by the Omnia) Then I bought a Supertooth Voice handsfree BT, it paired successfully and sound is a success BUT the Omnia is not transferring the Voice Dial functionality to the Handsfree BT. In other words you still have to press the Voice dialling button on the Omnia and call your contact's name on the Omnia's microphone AND only then the call is transferred to the Handsfree BT device. So you cannot leave the Omnia in your pocket - AND THUS CAN BE STOPPED BY A TRAFFIC COP BECAUSE YOU ARE HANDLING YOUR MOBILE WHILE DRIVING.
Brett Loubser from Samsung assured they will now (at last) look into this problem with the Omnia. YEAH !!!!

Bluetooth Omnia paaring with Audi A8
Submitted by Ryszard (not verified) on Sat, 2008-12-20 19:32.First paring with car bluetooth system was good. During 1 month this pair worked perfect - quick connections, in car system I was be able to find received calls, phonebook, dialing numbers. One week ago I couldn't find in car systems: receiving calls, and dialed numbers - sometimes temporary I can find them. Two days ago I have lost the phone book on car screen.
I clean up both connections from devices, and next I establish quite new paring, but there is no improvement. Or is even worse, because after entering into the car I must make first call thought the car system, because if not - all incoming calls or calls initiated directly from Omnia have status connected, but there is no any voice on Omnia and from Audi system.
I have chuck other telephone f.e. Samsung F 300 and it works O.K with my car system - the phonebook was visible in car system.
What can I do to have the same perfect work as on the start of using my Omnia- shall I buy a new one ? but for the month? Or

Submitted by Deborah (not verified) on Sun, 2008-12-21 18:38.We bought a Supertooth Voice some time ago and it paired beautifully with my Nokia N80 - no problem. After getting my new phone which is a Samsung G800, I found that I could not pair the phone with the Supertooth. Today we also tried to pair the device with my husband's phone, a Nokia E65 and also found that it could also not be paired. I am very dissapointed with the Supertooth Voice especialy after paying so much for it. I am also not at all impressed with the Samsung G800. Even the 5 megapixel camara is really not so hot at all!!

OMNIA pairing to PC by Bluetooth
Submitted by new2samsung (not verified) on Wed, 2008-12-31 06:44.Big problems here. During the pair, the PC sees the Omnia and vice versa but I get a message that the Omnia requires no specific registration after I enter the passcode. Ultimately, the Bluetooth manager sends it to the file transfer facility and it is discovered - but without setup (nothing saved in Bluetooth Manager). The Omnia does save a setup with my PC name but when I try to launch a Bluetooth connection FROM Omnia, it says there isn't a proper type of connection setup.
Due to lack of saved profile I can't assign a COM port and I can't synch with Bluetooth and ActiveSync 4.5 (it does work by USB).
I have XP PRO, Dell D610, ActiveSync 4.5. I never had a single problem pairing anything to the PC before, including a bunch of Motorola phones.
I kow a few things about PC's and I have scoured all settings to no avail. I'm pretty disappointed since this should have been a two minute thing.
Someone please help!

Connecting to internet on my laptop using the I900 as a modem
Submitted by Tracy (not verified) on Mon, 2009-02-09 13:25.Hello
Please can someone help me.
I have recently acquired a Samsung Omnia I900 however I am struggling to use it as a modem to connect to the internet on my laptop.
I am using the USB cable provided with the phone I have downloaded the active sync. When my phone is connected to the laptop it brings up a LAN connection which seems to be active but does not allow me to connect to the internet. When I go to internet sharing on my phone and connect there it disconnects the active sync and i am then able to connect to the internet on my laptop but for a minute and then the connection drops. It also seems incredibly slow.
I am in South Africa using Vodacom network and have Windows XP running on my laptop.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have the voice command set to on, the phone set to announce incoming calls through bluetooth only, but it announces on the phone. Omnia i910 pairing with Ford Sync: drops after a few minutes
Submitted by CV27 on Wed, 2009-05-27 17:36.Omnia pairs up consistently with Ford Sync. I can then make calls successfully. But, 9 times out of 10, after a few minutes, Sync tells me that the Omnia has disconnected. I then deactivate and reactivate Bluetooth on the Omnia, Sync automatically pairs with it again and the Omnia will then remain connected indefinitely.
I asked for a new unit and the second one shows the same behavior. Other phones pair and remain paired (Moto V360, HTC Touch).
Anyone else ? Known issue at Samsung ?
Omnia i910 pairing with Ford Sync: some hope ?

Well, what do you know! It's apparently now a known problem, so well known apparently that a fix is in the works.
Notice how often I use the word "apparently". I could not get any details as to how the problem was logged, what priority the fix has or when it will be available. But, at this point, I'll hang my hopes on ANYTHING.

Poor voice quality via bluetooth car kit

Any other phone had perfect voice quality through each respective car kit. Nokia e51, Sony Ericson's, motorolla's, they all worked fine, but the voice quality on the Samsung is terrible, and most people cannot hear a word. I can hear them perfectly. What could be causing this? Could it be that the phone is trying to use it's own mic, or could it be that voice data is not being transmitted fast enough via bluetooth?
