i8910
I have recently received my upgrade to the I8910HD! So far I like it.
Please can you let me know when the new firmware will be available for South African consumer phones? It is available in some other countries so far.
Thanks!
I've recently had the pleasure of playing with the phones in the image below. Each has its own 'wow' factor.

The new samsung Omnia HD - Arguably the best phone to reach South African land. And i was lucky enough to get my hands on this Beauty for a whole hour. I will answer any and try to reply to as many posts made to this blog regarding this phone. And It's innovative features which makes the i900 Omnia look basic.
[This handset is known as the Samsung i8910 HD in South Africa - ed].
This is an interesting Samsung i8910 viral video that's caused a bit of a buzz around the net in the last two days. They claim to not have edited any of it and that it was all shot in one go. So how on earth do they pull of such a neat trick? You'll have to to see the video to know what I'm talking about.
A friend of mine thinks he knows how they did it; do you? Please leave a comment with your answer.
Although there have been countless user "sneak preview" videos on the net, this seems to be the first one with a budget :)
The video shows of some of the handset's most powerful features. How cool is that image gallery view, the huge 3.7" touch-screen and DLNA functionality? Can't wait to get my hands on it!
Enjoy!
Samsung has launched a revolutionary phone at MWC 2009 in the shape of the Samsung Omnia HD (S60). As you can probably guess from the title, the Omnia HD is all about High Def - literally, 720p High Def video viewing and recording. You might wonder whether you'd notice the difference on a screen so small, but you can, helped in part by the fact that the screen's quality is fantastic. In fact, the quality is the same resolution as DSTV is currently broadcasting its HD channel.
The screen itself is a 3.7" monster, with AMOLED display technology, 16:9 ratio and a 360 x 640 pixel. It's this that helps the Omnia HD produce such startlingly good pictures. Well, the screen and also the display chip inside it that can genuinely display HD video.
This phone has an 8 megapixel camera that is capable of recording 720p HD video, that's amazing! But it gets even better, it also supports HDMI audio/video output so that it can be connected directly to an HD television and then watch it in HD! Other features include a GPS module, DivX compatibility and DLNA support.
I hope if you read it, that you will find it helpful. My friend has one and it's an amazing phone.
:-D
