I have recently received my upgrade to the I8910HD! So far I like it.

Please can you let me know when the new firmware will be available for South African consumer phones? It is available in some other countries so far.

I updated my firmware yesterday for my Omnia i900.

A special thanks to the developers who worked on this as my phone now has far more functionality especially the Wi-Fi that is easier to set up.

I also love the screen flip and rotate. It is so much better than the original.

Unfortunately you do lose your messages but most media is left untouched. I am hoping that the developers will create a program that saves all user settings like themes ringtones backgrounds and alarms. That would have cut my upgrade time in half since most of the time is spent on trying to re-setup the phone.

I encountered a problem when opening the firmware. It just loaded and shutdown even with virus protection and firewall dropped.

There’s a new firmware version (JCIC1) available for Omnia users with JC*** handsets. Please note that it is not intended for i900’s with Vodacom software (i.e. not for JB*** units.

The new firmware has the following major changes:

• New online widgets
• SharePix
• The Sims 2 game
